So i was just trying to do some simple pixel art. Anyone have any tips?

I'm attempting to do everything at 32*32 as you can see.

After reading a tutorials i decided try and design a simple character again, only it is totally different from normal drawing which i am doing a lot at the moment. This one is just a basic outline with some basic shadows, more too come but maybe someone has any tips for me. I know basic anatomy and shit but it is just hard to do the same thing with square dots =p

EDIT - Remade the hands (they are now fists), legs, head and shadows.

EDIT 2 - The third one has more details added, more shadows.

EDIT 3 - Now i have another guy, he's actually inspired from nathan graves from Castlevania. I think i like working on that size, i will try to make like 4 sprites and turn it into a walking sequence.

Some minor things I did a while back for a, now scrapped, 2D platformer game.

My only input to you guys posting above me is shading. Do not underestimate it like I personally did at first thinking "Hey it's just simple pixel art". Knowing how to properly add shading gives it that professional and believable touch.

Kiwinuptuo is a great pixel artist for inspiration and tutorials. The tutorials below helped me a lot. Enjoy!

I would post some more stuff but do you know a way to make a gif without losing quality because otherwise the pixels wont show up properly.

Oh and thanks for the tutorial it really helped, i am making some things right now that i intend to maybe use for a small android game but some of them are animated.

.gif only supports up to 256 colors so try to keep your images within that range. Other than that I've not stumbled upon any troubles. Try saving a couple version with different options and see which result end up looking the best.
