I was playing around with my new tablet for 15 minutes, and I made some pretty cool hair. So, I decided to follow through with a whole new texture. So far, the hair is the only thing done at the moment.

I hate burn and dodge. Everything I do is by brush, pen, and adjust tools. To achieve that deep red feeling, I bottomed out the green channel on dark colors, then wen back to normal on the highlights.

I'm free for suggestions, since I really don't know what I am going to do with this quite yet. The concept is sorta a human form of a phoenix, so I want to do something crazee with that theme. Suggestions are always welcome.

EDIT: Oh right suggestions... You could make the iris of the eyes orange for starters, then maybe her clothes orange and with lava cracks a little here and there

If you're actually working in 1024x1024 then I seriously recommend you resize it to a smaller scale (512x512 or, even better, 256x256) before you make any more progress.

1024 is my favorite resolution, with TDR's smart sharpen. Even all my icons I use in 1024. Its my magic number.
