Nightfall - Worth it?

For your information, HappyTauren, Nightfall released October 2006

Its a good game, although the missions are difficult. The two new professions are very nice, also heroes are definately worth you time as they'll help you where the henchies are lower level.

All in all it'll probably be a good buy for you, I own all the chapters so its pretty good

LMAO tauren you got pwned on both accounts... and anyway, I've only played the trial for Nightfall and it's bloody amazing, I love it: the graphics are beautiful, the new classes and characters are fun and the story is of course excellent. It is by far the best guild wars game yet. Definetly recommend buying it as I will be very shortly :)

Zomg how did tauren know i'm a bot?

Even if i was, why would you be talking to a bot telling it to go away?

I used to be very much in love with Guild Wars - I'd play it over wc3 any day. But after a few months of Factions (and I had already pwnt prophecies), I had all the quests beaten, all the missions done, most of the skills unlocked... I just stopped playing cuz there was nothing new for me to do.

So, basically - is Nightfall going to be a repeat of that, or is there more replayability value other than getting more skills?

ZOMG NEW CLASSES AREN'T DODGY! THEY FUCKING ROCK! They both exhibit new qualities, they aren't just a repeat of the others and they totally roxx! Paragon has healing and pwnage ranged abilities! The other has awesome scyth moves as well as some earth spells :) Story is very excellent too.

Whats to do in guild wars when ur level 20 anyway? .... get stronger weapons?? so wtf..

lol, you musnt know anything about GW then, you dont run around killing stuff and getting to highest level, it not runescape, you acctually have MISSIONS to do, theres minimissons and mainmissions, once you have done all them you get a title, i dunno which title it is though, but then after that you start exloring the map, to get the title ###% Tyrian/Cantha explorer (i doubt they have a title for exploring nightfall yet):infl_thumbs_up: :infl_thumbs_up:

anyone want my opinion? no? too bad.

I hate Nightfall and Factions and I've stopped playing Prophocies (the only good of the 3)

I hate Nightfall (and Guild Wars in peticular) because
-I suck at PvP
-It is not N00by-friendly at all!
-The new classes suck. I mean seriously... Dervish?
-The story line is bland and uninteresting
-You really do not need skill at all (except for PvP) even though the game says it is "based on Skill not hours played." people with more hours played can have the best armor for their tank at level like 5 and OWN you non-stop ... thats not skill
-The items really mean nothing. oh yeah your bow does 1 more + to health than mine but there really isn't much difference when the max damage is like 8-21!
-The game gets really bored, fast and is very linear.
-Maybe I'm just used to MMO's that are a loading-screenless world, but Guild Wars just annoys me with its AMAZING "no sub-fee" but crappy game over all... damn you GW!

Wow, GW is amazing for a free no sub game, and the Dervish and Paragon are amazingly fun to play. The new story is wonderful, Factions sucked yes, but Prophecies and Nightfall are excellent. The story is much like an RPG, and that's why I like it. It's less open like most MMO'S and more personalized to your own progress, things are meant to be done off on your own and you don't interact much with other players while doing quests and things, which leaves the feeling that you have this giant world created just for you, and I love it that way. It has 2 million players for a reason, dude.

2 million isnt much IMHO..

sucks you cant jump in the game, takes away the freedom..

Hey for a free MMO that's enough, that's a ton more then most MMO's have nowadays since WoW basically owns most of the MMO players. 2 Million is a big number... and there are only a few MMO's out there with more players then that.... As well, what freedom? So you can't jump? Who cares, that makes exploiting geometry a lot harder.

Im more of a freedom person, id love to jump, roam explore, hunt, climb trees in games. Id rather climb a mountain or a bucnh of rocks, go behind a group of enemies and pwnt them. It isnt exactly a game free, but in monthly fees, ya thats good.

Although all mmos i know lack freedom in the area of fighting... :( its one of those.. your character automaticly hits every to X seconds or click a button thing and thats it, let the spell charge....do nothing...boom and keep doing that till a monster dies.

Id love something like doom3/oblivion, shoot the guts outta the enemy, dodge, hide behind a tree or a bunch of rocks.... run away! hide as you watch them unwittingly fall into your ambush... sneak up from behind and pow pow! i just love those sorta games too! :D thats the freedom i like and if gw had that, then im sure i would be playing that along with many other people who dislike it now.

Depends, iv just heard of arch lord, the area i knew of it in the part of the net it was a big hit with its betas (although someone did complain to me that it sucked)

any way, if you want to get a good review on gw on any version/expansion, then id be willing to get one of my parents to do it. Mind you, if so, youd either get a response that was typed by a 10year old or some zealotic god person that cant even spell "thought", No offense to my parents at all.

Okay. I like (kind of like Werewulf) to be able to explore my surroundings not just follow 1 path with a certain amount of level 25 trolls on it. That bores me to all hell. I want to go exploring and randomly find some dungeon under a cliff, go inside and kill some vampires or something. Linear = BAD for me.

Nightfall is all campaign.
And I like the Dervish.
As for what do you do when you hit level 20?
Get better stuff, fight other players. Play endgame stuff.
(Like an area where most enemies are 28+ or something.)

Nightfall.... Is hard to explain. I got bored early after playing, and stick to factions more.
I wouldn't suggest Nightfall

It's funny, because most people regard Factions as the worst of the GuildWars games, Prophecies being the best, then Nightfall and then Factions. I like it best because it's very much like a single player RPG. You are very involved in the story, and the story is actually compelling. Dervish is hella fun to play, and the new scenery is beautiful.

nope

:emote_naw: soo not worth it....i have it,soooo boring.my char is still like level 8 i think i forgot my pass too :emote_sad: and i wasted 55$ on it, and i payed a lot:emote_cash:
soo not worth it man i suggest u not do it :emote_naw:
now i want to play this game called f.e.a.r. its look so cool go youtube.com and check it out

DON'T RESSURECT OLD POSTS.

2) F.E.A.R is a good game, yes, BUT IT'S A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GENRE (Ever noticed the difference between an FPS and a MMO?!) and therefor CANNOT be compared to Nightfall.

3) It's not our fault you're a noob and you wasted your money. You don't appreciate the game because you suck at it. PC Gamer gave it a really good score, and I can testify for that. It's a great game.

F.E.A.R is an O.K game, but as said different genre.

Now Nightfall is TOTALLY worth it! The story of it is interesting (altought it will never beat the Prophecies story), the new Professions are cool, new cool armor, weapons and skills too!

Yes, both Dervish and Paragon are GREAT fun to play!

Plus F.E.A.R is OLD now, it's way old news and the hype about it is long over, so where this guy has been for the past 2 years or so, I have no idea. Crysis, that's another story. If you want an FPS then that's the one for you :D

It doesn't matter... the fat is you were all hyped up about it, like it was coming out soon or had just come out, when in fact the hype is over... sure it's a great game, regardless of its age, but unless you've been out of it for the last 2 years, there is absolutely no reason to get hyped about it, and especially no reason to say that it is better then Nightfall when they are two very seperate genres.
