the .mdx file needs no custom path, you can leave it as is

as for the .blp file you have to give them the custom paths given by the author for example the model Sephiroth http://wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Models&ID=984&sid=ca57001f1f06c4a247e53a19de98bf8c

There are two skins:
Sephiroth.blp
Fx.blp

Since they are in yellow this means they have a custom path you need and there particular custom paths are Fx.blp and Sephiroth.blp

As for the model you leave it with ant path its not important.

When you insert a unit with this model file you will see a green/black checkered box, this is normal, enter the game and the unit will appear, then the next time you open editor you will see the unit.

Hope this helps

Blademaster just answered that. When you download a model, it will come with at least the .mdx and a .blp skin file. Often it will come with other smaller .mdx files and skins, which are usually attachments. The main model file doesnt need any specific path. WHen you upload it, it will automatically generate the path "war3mapimported/filename." However, all the other files will need costom paths, such as "Texures\filename" or "unit\human\unitname\skinname." These paths are displaed in dull yellow color on each model page. You have to type those in in the import manager. Then save the map. Then reload it and assign the model file to your units in the object manager. THEN the units will show up.
