As far as I know the background of chatrooms online should not change. Or is this a special feature of clans?

Maybe if you explained what you are doing people may be able to help you. All I can see from your image is that it looks like a few of the standard BattleNet textures are mangled with custom textures, which could possibly get your CDKeys banned according to the ToU.

This is iCCup (The Abyss) server. Not the Battle.net.

Also you won't get banned for modifying / customizing your warcraft. It's public for many years.

Like how to change your background and how to change some textures - frames - etc etc.

What I need like it's shown on the picture, I need one file, porbably a .blp to add , which will make a "shadow" on my chat over the background, so the chat would be normal at least, because like this it's almosr impossible to read it due the white part of the background.

You can see the inbox is darker a little box over the background, i want to make the whole chat like this "a bigger black box".
I don't know the parameters, the name of the BLP and can't find it.

That's what I need.

And no, it's legal, you won't get banned for this from any server, not even from Battle.net.

No where did you mention that originally. Stuff makes a lot more sense now.

Not according to the Battle.Net ToU. If blizzard enforces it is another problem (just like apparently you can map hack again in custom games without being banned).

Check through the game data MPQs for various interface textures. I know you can find the in game interface inside them and I think I once saw some Battle.Net UI textures.

Why not merge the shading with the background image? I mean surly the same result could be obtained by using a pre-shaded background image? Or would this have other undesired effects as the image is used elsewhere?

Maybe start again with the default chatroom and change it part by part. If there is such a shading box you can then find out which part it is and leave it in. It is unlikely many people will know exactly how to create such interfaces since it violates the standard Battle.Net ToU (only third party servers allow this).

I am pretty sure if you posted anything like this on their forums they would slap a temporary ban on you. Any form of third party modification is not permitted by Blizzard unless clearly specified (custom hotkeys, SC2 replay UI, WoW interface modifications etc). I once made a mistake of saying that it was ok to use a D3 shader modification (which just changed the lighting), silly me.

Obviously if they ban you for actually doing it on Battle.Net is a different question. Apparently they have dropped down the Warden strictness over the years. At one stage they even monitored custom games and banned people for map hacks but that seems to have stopped.
