Why there are no maps where spying/sabotaging/getting information would be very important? I am kinda bored of that old plain "Tanks/nukes/cities/everything else"...
Actualy, WW3 NS is becoming a very non-conventional war map. I am foccusing the last version more in spying, propaganda and getting information than weapons.
Maybe you will add:
1. Radio silence (Makes your units invisible/ stops propaganda teporaryly.
2. UN (All players can make some weapons usable/unusable, if 80% people will agree, the one who will use them will be war criminal.
3. Deshiphering (You see all enemy movement)
MGS = Metal Gear Solid. I try to make my maps sorta dependent on scouting, so that way infantry are always important and I make more powerful units have crappier LOS than their attack range.
Bit the bullet, then spit it back out to kill someone. Patch 1.30 of The Darkening Wars is out! Thank God I could make out what I had written a year ago...
yeah a lot of modern warfare maps (excluding WW3 of course!) these days focus too heavily on armor (tanks/air/etc) and artillery instead of infantry, with the result being that there usually only exist one or two infantry units (like in Kofi's WiC, where there are only riflemen and anti-tank troops)
a system like in EndWar or WiC, whereby u can upgrade individual units into different classes would be awesome though; instead of having a class exist by itself
Well, my friend is planning on reworking his map to reflect the Cold War Era. Seems like it will be interesting. Also, the definition of Modern Warfare varies, so I assume you are on about the Post-Second World War Era? That, or the Korean War. Sorry to necro. ^^
No worries, there is no neroing in social groups. Yet.
Dunno, actually modern warfare technically begun after the world war 2 when weapons of mass destruction were firstly used and this changed the politics and warfare forever.
But if you want a time from where war beame just as it is now, I think late Vitnam/Cold war times or maybe Iraq War would be it.
