My retarded laptopt got inbuilt microphone and when I am trying to record sound it always uses the inbuilt one.

So, when I plug mic, I can hear sounds from headset etc, but when I speak, nothing, I have to speak to inbuilt mic, that is almost impossible because it is on the top of my screen.

So, how I change my sound recording/input (or something) so that it RECORDS MY PLUGGED MIC VOICE, not the inbuilt one's.

i hope someone answer pretty quickly because this is rly pissing me off

edit:

yeah ive had this problem for some time but... I PLUGGED THEM TO WRONG HOLES SOZOSOZO works now... -.-
even thought the sound is still a bit too low
