Jet Fighters

General Idea
Jet Fighters is a 3rd (or 1st) person combat flight simulator, with working aircraft physics, with fantasy-styled aircrafts. It also includes all features of RPG maps, as leveling heroes, equipping aircarfts with various items, friendly fire and so on... The original idea for this map was putting Azerothian Grand Prix and Bomber Command together. I started developing this map about 2,5 years ago, and abandoned it shortly thereafter, but lately I realised it was still fun to play, so I repaired many leaks, crashed and miscalculations and present the map to you. I hope I managed to maintain the same level of originality as in my other maps.
Map
The game is for two teams, each of them with it's own airfield. There are also 4 neutral airfields, which can provide players with better items and allow them to trade. Landing on neutral airfields isn't easy, but the fee for trading is worth it.
Physics
The game includes a complete physics engine designed for the aircaft system. It calculates with different engine powers, aircraft weight, two kinds of flaps and also homing missiles.
Equipment
Through combination of magic and technology, many various items were made to help pilots fight each other. So far there are various shields, turbo, targeting helpers. Each item weights something, and thereby decreases flying capabilities of the aircraft.
Progress
The map is now playable (attached to the post), but it still needs lot of work, much of the terrain is empty (the map was enlarged recently and I didn't fill the terrain yet), some items don't work properly and there still have to be some more aircrafts to choose from. Also the physics will be improved, for example, so far you can turn in only one angle (first thing I am going to change).

Nice game but how in the hell do you land?
pros:
Fun new ideas to the game.
fun easy to learn controls(without a guide)
Nice physics engine
Like how the pitch goes with your arrow keys
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Neutral
dragon-Gryffen lolz, are those really classified as jets
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cons:
How do you land your plane?
you can't crash into trees
-----------------------------------------
Litte problems
-----------------------------------------
lozl where is the info in quests.
terrain is a bit bland.
what are those random runways for?
manufacturing points?
wheres the bomber guide when you get the item?
-----------------------------------------
Needs to be implemented
-----------------------------------------
needs a tutorial even for a beta in my opinion. just one that explains what flaps and pitch does... people that don't know anything about jets or planes with get confused and crash repeatedly. first time for all ill played with crashed eight times straight.

You can land easily, just need to know that you can't descend faster than 15 units/second( elevation needs to be > -15 ) :grin:

Crashing into trees works sometimes, sometimes not, trying to figure out why.

It's a beta, the details like full description in quests, terrain, guide and so on are not done yet.

"random" ranways are trade posts, where you can load cargo and transport it somewhere else for money (assuming you can land there)

Manufacturing points are gained through factories and decrease respawn time (I wrote this into the tooltip, but it only shows the first line :grin:)

what do you mean with "bomber guide"? You have bombs, you throw them down on your enemy, that's pretty clear :grin:

anyway thanks for testing the map, I hope to improve it soon

well landing is pretty hard, but what did you expect? that you can fly an airplane the first time you sit in it? :grin: it requires some training, but landing isn't necessary for casual games
bomber systems are bugged, they should show location where your bomb will land, simillary to targeting systems, but for bombs. They are pretty useless
