Hook Extreme

Map Info:

In this map you have to fight in a small arena as a mage against other mages with powerful spells. For example the 'Fire Hook' which literally grabs your enemies and draw them to you while dealing a nice amount of damage.
The main objective is to kill 50 enemy mages.

Features:

A working AI which casts 'Chain Lightning' at you(Has to be a slot occupied by a computer)
Meteors are falling from the skies, which deal damage.
The mysterious mage will cause a huge explosion each 2 minutes at the middle of the map which deals a lot of damage.
Some Items which might be useful.
4 different spells(Fire Hook, Ice Hook, Teleport, Life Drain).
3 Modes:
-np to remove peasents/zombies
-ni to remove all shops and disable money gain
-eg to remove 'Kill Gain' Endless Game
6 different items which spawn somewhere in the arena every minute!

Special notes:

This is the 'Extreme' version of the original game (Hook Arena) which was created by DWGPlasmos who dropped his map due to several bugs which he couldnt fix. He asked me to fix the bugs and allowed me to finish his map. Also all of the spells except Teleport and Ice Hook are made by him.

Changes from Hook Arena to Extreme
There were Falling Stars instead of Meteors
There was no mage which caused a huge explosion every 2 minutes
There werent ANY items
lvling was quite difficult
No AI
No screen effects/shaking camera
No tile changing during the game
No Ice Hook
No Upgrade Items


The AI only uses Chain Lightning as it seemed like impossible for me to make it cast anything else with my triggering skills.

Changelog and Credit list of the first version of Hook Arena till this version is also in the Quest(F9) menu of the map.

    I was planning on adding some more hooks, I am pretty sure there will be a new one in the next version.
    For the Items, what do you mean by random?
    The ones that spawn around the arena are supposed to look all the same but have different 'abilities'.
    The reason why there are so many special effects is, this map is the Extreme Version of the original map (Hook Arena) which is also written in the description.
    Hmm, I havent thought about adding upgrades! I will think about it.
    About the AI, I was going to change them completely. They will be attacking MORE often AND they will get their own unique spell.
    These arent random explosions. Those are Meteors falling from the sky.
    The idea for those originaly came from the original maker DWGPlasmos, the Falling Stars. As I didnt want to remove any feature from Hook Arena I decided to change the effect model, increase the damage caused and make some splash for it. It can be used to drag other people into it.

    About the credits, I really added everyone who helped making the extreme version.

    Good luck with that :)

    All those special effects is pretty cool, but like I said in the review, it's making it harder for player to see things in the map. maybe lessen it.

    So that means a better AI is expected in the following versions. can't wait :)

    The model used is already fine :) the explosion keeps on killing the mages, before you even have a chance to hook them they die because of those explosions, my opinion is that it isn't a good idea adding a damage since it will be killing more and more mages everytime it hits the ground. and yes, if the meteor only has a little damage adding a splash would be a good idea.

    Good :), you'll have just have to wait until a moderator moderate this map again.

    Sorry map can't be approved as hero arena only as mini game...
    But you still need to fix ability places and descriptions as well as hotkeys :sad:

    Add command list within quest tab, add more modes and difficulties...

    I fixed all tooltips, I noticed you propably couldnt read it because of the massive amounts of special effects, thats what my friend said. All Hotkeys are working and are written in the abilities.
    I added 2 more 'modes' since your last review(?)

    About the difficulties I am currently working on the new AI, so this should be done at like version 2(?)

    Edit: Well then I am fine with a Mini-Game, I even think that fits a bit more!

    Life drain hotkey is D and it won't work...
    Can you create quest about modes as well in quest dialog.

    It was alot of fun until I received a critical error after 2min or so :/
    I don't know about the other players but I was doing nothing special at that moment (maybe cast hook^^)

    got a critacal error after 10 or so minutes into the game, the amount of meteors coming down waas about 4 times more than a minute before. also teleport learn tooltip was in german (i think) i was playing with just 1 comp. Also for frie hook and im assuming all of them they curve if you target a person and you facing a differant direction. thats fine, but maybe add a command to disable it or make you face the person first, so it would follow them if them moved.

    The hooks are supposed to bend, it can be very helpfully to advanced players, chasing hooks would make the game a bit boring in my opinion.

    it wouldnt really be chasing so to speak im just saying if you made the caster face the enemy it would curve towards them chasing them in a way
