The execution is quite crude when looking at the details, sometimes the mesh bends in a very awkward way.

The idea is nice, but the execution is not.
You need to work on the geometry and texture stretching and the hard edges on the UV. You should also fix the issue in the sanity checker and also add more self-made custom meshes.
