Hero Editing & turning units to heroes

Okay, Im trying to make some custom Heroes.

They are: Sylvanas,Archimonde,Mathog,and Lord Garithos.

I want to know how I can change there stats (stats especially for Archimonde- he's too powerfull!) and How I can change there names. (Mainly, how to give them a pool of random names- like a Lich can be Araj the Summoner or Ordin Frostbane). I mainly want to know how to change there names, and make them into regular heroes. And how to change there class name (instead of Ranger:High Elf Ranger)

There is a major problem for Mathog, He has no class,abilities, OR stats.


I am VERY new to this, just so you know. I hope I explained it good enough.

EDIT: Almost forgot, I want the four to be Neutral heroes- so I have to put them in a Tavern. And for Mathog, I am not going to make custom abilities. I want to give him these ones: Howl of Terror,Bash,Storm Bolt, and Earthquake. Finally, I wish to replace Archimonde's "Finger of Death" with a custom ability.

Welcome to The Hive Workshop, Lord Deagra!

First you may wish to copy the existing heroes and then paste them as custom units. This will preserve the originals while you work with your custom heroes. After you are satisfied, you might then change those originals and delete the custom units to save space.

The object editor provides many fields each unit. Just double click the field you wish to edit and change the values:

Stats - Starting Agility
Stats - Agility per Level
Stats - Race
Text - Name
Text - Proper Names
Text - Proper Names Used #

Mathog will be difficult to handle since he's not a hero. You might copy another hero, so you can change the values in Abilities - Hero. Then carefully paste in what you can from Mathog and decide what Stats- Per Level etc. to assign.

Tip - You can right click any field value and copy it, then paste it into an identical field on another unit.

Ok, let's go per parts. You want to make Mathog a hero, but note already, that he's a special unit and not a hero. If you want to make a hero, simple right click a hero (like Blademaster), press Copy, then press Paste.

Archimonde is not any better than Cenarius actually. Archimonde's only problem is that he has too much HP. To lower the hitpoints, enter Object Editor, left-click Archimonde in Undead/Campaign/Heroes/Archimonde (open the folders in WE by pressing the [+] button) and scroll down until you see Stats - Hit Points Maximum (Base). This displays the hitpoints the unit will have in game. (NOTE: Heroes get +25 hit points per Strength Point by default!)
As for stats, you have: Starting Strength, Starting Agility, Starting Intelligence. Then you have another fields named Strength per Level, Agility per Level, Intelligence per Level. These last fields I mentioned will add the value you set there each time the hero gains a level (a Hero can level up to level 10).
Decimals don't show up, though, so if you have 1.50 strength per level, the hero will gain +1 strength at level 2, and +2 strength at lvl 3 (1.50 + 1.50 = 3)

To change their names, do the same history (Open Object Editor, Undead Campaign Heroes), and press Kel'Thuzad. Scroll down until you see the Text - Proper Names. This requires you to add strings (Hero Names). The buttons Add String, Edit String, Delete String and the Move Up/Down will be avaible.

Add String - Adds a new String, Hero Name.
Edit String - Edits the text to whatever you like.
Delete String - Deletes the select text(s). Keep in mind that there will be no messages asking for confirmation.

The Move Up/Down is obvious, so I won't explain. The hero names are totally randomized regardless of their position.

And how to change there class name (instead of Ranger:High Elf Ranger)

This can be changed by editing the text in Text - Name

As I've said, you have to create a custom hero for them. Then, you might want to change Text - Name and Text - Proper Names. To add abilities, scroll up to the top where you will find Abilities - Hero. Then add the abilities you wish your new hero to have.

You need to go to the Tavern in Neutral Passive/Melee/Buildings/Tavern. Then scroll down until you see Techtree - Units Sold. Note that the first 4 fields are reserved for hero reviving purposes, so you should replace 4 heroes of the Tavern.

NOTE: This will bring up new issues which you can ask aswell.

Speaking of heroes isnt there a way to change a normal unit (non-hero) into a hero? Like without copying and pasting. At least i coulda sworn there was i myself cant remeber it though...
