(Concept art mostly AI generated then touched up with some brushes / tools)
I'm not good with Warcraft 3 lore, and the idea here is mostly for a non-canon fan-made character, that sort of attempts to fit the lore of the world with my limited knowledge of it, also I have a campaign idea in mind which I can't really create, I'm just posting this for fun and for the chance to inspire someone, abilities of the hero are thought out in a way that they would work with the campaign as well as fit the basic concepts of Blizzard's original ability kits.
Character name / Hero class
Thyris Darkwing / Gargoyle Queen
Thyris Darkwing / Gargoyle Queen
The Hatchling
Mysterious birth neither of flesh nor blood, but of a cold obsidian egg found nested a top of unreachable cliffs at the edge between Stonetalon Mountains and the Ashenvale Forest, Thyris Darkwing came into the world without warmth of parents nor kin. Born as a unique creature, with delicate and sharp elven features clashing against the monstrous traits of a gargoyle. She was neither an elf, having no ties to the night elven ancestry and civilization, and neither a gargoyle, as she was more then a mindless sentry.
Her early years were marked by solitude, and struggle for survival, as she found herself a top of the mountains where a large group of Gargoyles, escapees from Eastern Kingdoms have settled, and have been clashing with the native Harpy tribes. While in constant danger, this fate also played a role in her survival, as she often found herself feeding on leftovers, left behind by feasting Gargoyles and Harpies alike. While Harpies were a constant threat, the Gargoyles took notice of their similarity to her, but they saw her as an outsider. And as she grew, in her encounters with the Gargoyles they saw her ferocity grow, and began to accept her more.
Struggle to Fit in
While she grew older, she learned to survive alone, mastering the wilderness and the skies.. However, as her power grew, the Harpies took notice of it, seeking vengeance for their kin that she slew as well as early prevention of their growing powerful enemy they sent their warriors after her. Thyris saw these parties seeking her, and skillfully avoided them for a time, but eventually she got caught and got in a deadly skirmish fighting alone against a group of Harpies, this is where she shown her prowess, managing to overcome the opponents, but with major injuries. Scouting Gargoyle saw the corpses of the Harpies and investigated, following the blood trail it found wounded Thyris, and this Gargoyle finally accepted her as one of their own, and took her into their nest for her to heal.
However, this was not the end of her struggle, as there were further difficulties for her to fit in with the Gargoyles now, she was often tested by the more dominant Gargoyles, being simple primal beasts the only method of bending their will was by defeating them in combat. But she prevailed, time and time again defeating the challengers in combat and raising herself among the ranks, eventually gaining the respect of all of the Gargoyles.
The War Against the Harpies
Harpies, chased off from the Stonetalon Mountains by the Horde from a nearby settlement, decided to push further up the mountain and started focusing more on the war against the Gargoyles who were lesser in number. The Harpies sought to destroy the Gargoyle brood and conquer the peaks of the mountain, settling in this area would give them more of an advantageous position against their hunters.
Desperate and determined, the Harpies descended upon the Gargoyle nests, shrieks of fury and roars echoed through the mountains as the violent clash of the two winged forces unfolded on the sky. Caught unprepared, the Gargoyles suffered a great defeat, losing their morale as they saw their leader fall, they began to scatter and flee over the mountain, finding refugee on the mountain side that resided in Ashenvale. After regrouping and settling down, the Gargoyles decided to proclaim Thyris as the new leader of the group, as she was the most dominant and most powerful of those who remained.
This time Gargoyles had a leader not only powerful in strength, but somebody who didn't live just by the primal instinct and instead had a cunning side, ability to plan and strategize. Keeping a watchful eye seeing her Gargoyles feeding on Kobold miners within a nearby cave, and coming across new opponent in Night elves, she observed that the Kobolds and Night elves are also enemies. Seeing the Kobolds extract mysterious ores and materials out of the mine, she observed them putting it to use, a particular Kobold skilled at blacksmithing was creating powerful equipment using the dark materials. This equipment woke her interest, as it seemed like a powerful tool to help taking vengeance against the Harpies, and she ordered her Gargoyles to cease attacking and feeding on Kobolds. She decided to make an alliance, offering Kobolds protection from the Night Elves for their equipment in return.
Thyris, now adorned with full black armor plate, crafted by the Kobold blacksmith, imbued with magic of the mysterious ore, became a new kind of threat that no Harpy could have foreseen coming. With her Gargoyle forces recuperated, equipped with armors and with the aid of Kobolds warriors, Thyris now led her forces on a war of vengeance against the Harpy tribes. Unleashing a fury that shook the skies, the two fierce winged forces fought violently once more. The harpies fought wildly with their claws and nature magic, but Thyris' army of Gargoyles was more then prepared this time, fighting with great coordination and with the aid of their new alliance and their armor, their stone bodies squashed the fragile bodies of their Harpy enemies.
Thyris found herself face to face with the Harpy Matriarch, a powerful creature, commander of the Harpies, whos voice commanded the elements themselves. The two leaders clashed into a chaotic aerial duel between an agile beast with raw strength and stone skin and a beast that controlled the elements with it's magical potency. For every spell the Matriarch cast, Thyris dodged with her alertness and speed, outmatching her opponent, as her claws slashed through the air they became painted red, her wings a blur movement as she outmaneuvered the Harpy leader. She roared a war cry as she performed the final dash towards the Matriarch, stabbing her heart in the final blow, the Harpy was seen spiraling down the vast depths beneath. With the fall of their leader, seeing no chance against the mighty foe, the Harpies fled the mountains, leaving the Gargoyles victorious.

Additional Thoughts
I was thinking in terms of a campaign where you'd be fighting Harpies, possibly later Night elves, giving her abilites like Reflective Skin would be useful against Harpies with piercing attack and Night elf archers, also Petrifying Scream silencing enemies would be good counter for Harpies casting Rejuvenation. Stone form makes sense since she's a Gargoyle, I feel like it's kind of a necessary ability, and Fly/Land being an additional ability (could be just a UI icon for a flying hero) I think it's necessary because of units like Troll Batriders.
The original idea was just to have this battle between Gargoyles and Harpies, since I just feel like the concept is pretty interesting and original, but I think there is space for further conflicts against Night Elves, or perhaps traveling to Eastern Kingdoms reuniting her Gargoyles with their kin and becoming a Queen of all Gargoyles after proving herself in battles against Humans and others.
Welp, that would be all. I'm an awful writer, but hope someone enjoys the read.
