- Shandris Feathermoon retreats to fortify Mount Hyjal while Tyrande is running around the forest waking up Druids.
- At some point during the Third War Shandris starts referring to Jaina Proudmoore as "Battle sister". When this happened is unknown
- At some point the Night Elves encourage the Chimeras of Nordrassil to fight against the Burning Legion. This is never seen in the campaign, but it is part of the lore [Warcraft 3 Manual]
- Demon Hunters, outcasts of the Night Elves, come to the aid of their kin by using their dark powers to kill any demon or undead that they can find. Though powerful, they are clearly outnumbered and can only supplement the defense of Ashenvale. [Warcraft 3 Manual]

- Amnennar the Coldbringer leads remnants of the Scourge from the Battle of Mount Hyjal to the Barrens, where he spends time creating the Abomination Tartek the Enraged. He unleashes it on the quillboar, killing well over a thousand before it succumbs to its wounds. [WOW]
- At some point after the Third War ends, the remaining Darkspear Trolls led by Vol'jin arrive in Kalimdor and begin colonising the Echo Isles. Those survivors of the war join them, establishing several settlements including Sen'jin Village. [WC3:TFT / WOW]
- Hamuul Runetotem speaks with Furion and requests to become his pupil. Furions takes the tauren up on his request, and when his training finishes he is the first known tauren druid in twenty generations. In time he attains the title of Archdruid [Comic - The Gathering / Book - Ultimate Visual Guide / Novel - Stormrage]
- Furion calls upon the faerie dragons to wake from the Emerald Dream and help heal the lands. These sprite dancers work hard to heal the land but they have a monumental task ahead of them as the Legion's blight was extensive [WC3:TFT]
- Ever since the Demon Hunters were introduced in Warcraft 3 it has been known that they fought alongside against the Burning Legion in the Third War and that they, in fact, predate it by a long time. WoW: Legion attempted to retcon this by claiming the first Demon Hunters were trained by Illidan while on Outland, but this lore is contradicted even by the new characters added in that expansion, including a female Demon Hunter who took up the role in the years after the War of the Ancients. The retcon is absurd, so I have completely bypassed it, as it makes little sense and robs the night elves of one of the more interesting parts of their culture and tech tree. It is best to view the Legion lore as Illidan training -his- first batch of Demon Hunters, rather than the first ever batch of demon hunters to get trained.
- The Barrow Deeps are considered to be in Winterspring, but somehow Illidan gets from those to Felwood in two days, and in WoW those Barrow Deeps do not exist. There are a number of theorised locations for the Barrow Deeps including Mount Hyjal. For consistency with WC3 lore I've kept it in Winterspring, but it might be worth considering moving it elsewhere.
- Rage Winterchill dies when Archimonde is destroyed in Warcraft 3, but in the Battle of Mount Hyjal instance he dies on the assault on the Human Stronghold
- Archimonde in WoW retains the same voice actor as he does in Warcraft 3. Theoretically, some of his lines from the Battle of Mount Hyjal and WoD's Hellfire Citadel dungeons could be used for new scenes.
- Blizzard originally made an additional final mission set after Twilight of the Gods but it was cut as it felt like an anti-climatic slog that lasted for far too long. Though it is impossible to restore this final mission because we lack any knowledge of what it contained, nor the dialogue it had, it does reveal an interesting clue as to why the Chimera unit is not available in the campaign - it is highly likely that they were given to you in that final mission.
