Hey, does someone have time to edit the warcraft 3 chest model? (the model of the items).

Here an image, which animations it should have:

Stand - the chest is closed
No animations needed.

Stand alternate - the chest is open, but without the gold in it
No animations needed.

Death - the chest opens
Maybe a small animation, where the chest opens (not instantly)

no, the chest model of warcraft 3 should be edited, so it has a stand animation (closed), a death animation (open animation) and a stand alternate (open, but without the gold).

This is how I want to use it:
If you rightclick on that chest, it plays the open animation. but before this, the chest is closed. and sometimes, instead of giving you items, the chest turns into a mimic, which attacks you.
hope that is clear now =D

then what do you need that Mimic thing for? then just use the chest Chilla Killa said and start triggering?

Its just the wc3 chest with open and close anims is it? if so, it shouldnt be too hard. i'll be happy to give it a try, i need some practice in basic animation :D

EDIT: I whipped up a quick thingy, it's fitting your exact specifications. Anims are Stand (Closed, inanimate), Death (Opens, animated) and Stand Alternate (Open, inanimate). Should be right and working, if not just pm me or something. Enjoy! :thumbs_up:

Oh, ill show you exactly how i did it then:

1, create a joint at the base.
2, assign the vertices at the base of the chest to the joint.
3, create a joint at the hinge. Did not assign any vertices.
4, create a joint at the top of the lid of the chest.
5, assign the vertices that comprise the lid of the chest.
6, RUN ZERO JOINTS NOW
7, go into animation mode and select th joint at the hinge.
8, rotate the hinge toward the lock to make it look closed.
9, the chest is closed.
10, set keyframe and opened the chest and set keyframe at frame 13 or 14 or something, can't remember.
11, typed the code for animations in the comments, and 'linear' in the joints comments.
12, export as mdl.
13, changed the texture from textures\white.blp to the chest texture and set the death anim to non-looping.
14, convert to .mdx and upload. DONE.

That's exactly what i did in brief but meaty detail. if you have any questions feel free to ask, i may not know how to answer them but aye, i'll give it a shawt :thumbs_up: Hope this helps and good luck with your modeling & animation!
