Place more about the map in this thread. I downloaded it but I doubt that anyone else may.
Dunakavics-RPG 0.55 (BETA)
>What does Dunakavics mean?
>The map can use much work on the terrain. The terrain is plain at all places. The roads are straight.
>I need to know the abilities of the hero before I choose them.
>No info about the story in the quest menu? I am lost as to what to do. You haven't forgotten to place a story in this? An RPG without a story will be complete weird.
>A town with no people inside it?
>So many dark Wizard's together? I can barely move near them. They will kill me soon enough.
>What is with the circle of powers?
>You have used large groups of creeps & monsters everywhere. Have you tried if they can be defeated?
I choose death knight.
>Where is the icon for Spawn Skeleton? It is green completely.
I am completely lost as to what to do in the map so I don't think I can play this map.
Placing description about the map in the thread is a prerequisite if you need to get attention. People read before they play. If there is nothing much start telling your plans in the first post using EDIT button. The current description can give a wrong impression that you haven't got plans for this map.
The terrain is basic but it leaves more to the imagination and at some points maps like this display far more creativity and imagination than their generic highly polished counterparts.
The map is simple and everything works nothing feels "flimsy" because it's all the basic wc3 elements.
I like having high level creeps near the start to present a challenge for the players to return to later in the game. Rather than having them walk a straight line through the entire map. Why can't there be strong creeps outside the starting town? The monsters only want to hang out in areas where the players can easily kill them?
If this is your first map it's a good start and what's nice about this is that you can build off it as you learn. You can slowly gain new skills and apply them to this map, as right now it's really just the very bare essentials. Plus if you're making it mostly just to play with your friends I don't think they'll mind these minor details.
There's lots of room for improvement but really you should just try to have fun with it. Zelda.Alex isn't criticizing you, he's trying to help you improve your map and draw more attention to this thread.
He's given you several suggestions for things to look at, and think about. Since it's a beta people are going to assume that you're looking for bugs and suggestions and that's what hes provided you with. It shouldn't take you very long to update your initial post with a little extra information for people and it may help you draw more attention to your map.
I've uploaded some screenshots for you to use if you feel like it...
