Hi guys,

Long time since i made any maps, so i need some assistance..

I am trying to make a fun "battle royale" game.
So, i want the map to get tinyer and tinyer, as all other battle royales 4sure!

I need help to make the DOT damage when "Survivor" is in the region / Area.
He will lose 10hp each second.

Can someone show me how to make this trigger?
I cant find it anywhere.. haha

Thanks!

You must place the "set life" action below Loop not individually.

EDIT: You can use or condition at loop to check if picked unit is your survivor units.

Also, before Unit Group action, use custom script as follows:
  • Custom script: call bj_wantDestroyGroup = true
. It will prevent your group leak that will make your map unplayable after certain time.

There is a "Pick every unit in region matching condition" Action, just put whatever possible condition you have there. also you cannot put "Owner of picked unit" in the event conditions, especially not like this.

This would require a unit to be owned by two players at the same time. You need to put an "Or" Condition before that.

Also as Love Seeker mentioned, the custom script goes in front of the unit group action

I meant like this
  • Unit Group - Pick all units in....
    • Loop - Actions
      • If (All conditions are true) / Then (Do Actions) / Else (Do Actions)
        • If - Conditions
          • Or (Any condition are true)
            • ----- Put your condition here -----
        • Then - Actions
          • Put actions like setting HP and SFX here
        • Else - Actions
Also custom script must be above Unit Group action like this
  • Custom script: call bj_wantDestroyGroup = true
  • Unit Group - Pick all unit in....
Also, most important in this forum, don't double post. Use edit instead.

EDIT: Lol it seem my memory failed me. Can someone correct the trigger? :pNvrmind

i think you need to explain a little more what else you have set up, because i don't really see this kind of trigger work for battle royal mode.

How do you define Region003? What other kinds of units do you have or how do you distinguish between player units and other units?

I don't play battle royal games, but from what i know you start with an entire map available which then creates a circle in which you are save, every unit outside of that circle takes damage. Plus the circle gets smaller after certain time intervals. -> if that's what you want, then i think you need a different approach.

Yea, please explain more. The more you explain more the more you can get help from anyone. I honestly never played Battle Royal games. PUBG, Garena Free Fire are the only games that I know what you guys call battle royales(And that's because they're popular). If it is the game mode like UreDe4D said, then it would be good to take a different approach(Or maybe move region everytime you minimize your arena, but that's really bad :p)

Hello there!

Your solution is simple, you just need a periodic trigger that picks all living units on the map, checks the distance between their locations and the center of the zone, and then damages those units who are outside the Safe Zone (i.e further than X from the center, where X is the radius of your Safe Zone)

Hope it helps :)

The other approach is to get all units on the map, then get all units in the safe rect, and then perform a set subtraction to get all units on the map that are not in the safe rect. The set subtraction is done by removing all units detected in the centre region from all other units on the map.

One can further filter this if the unit is in your survivor group or not.

One will want to make some sort of dummy unit to deal the damage. This is so that on your kill feed you can state that a player was killed by environmental hazards rather than that they were killed by "null" or killed themselves.
