Perhaps you could also make a futuristic version, with the metal connections made out of hexagons, or simply without metal at all, just glass?

Like the idea, but i personaly feel there is too much "metal"....
mabey u can make the metal bars not as thick?

other than that, i love it. Reminds me of the Bio-Domes in sc2.
