MMH Scanner Discord Bot

I had an idea a while ago for a Discord bot that would notify me and my friends about a certain type of games being hosted on MMH.

So I went and did it! Then, I kind of expanded the bot a bit. Then, I thought I'd share it with the whole WC3 community!

This bot is oriented at Discord servers that are centered around several WC3 maps and who use Discord to organize/announce games in chat.

It scans the MMH/ENT game list and posts a notification in chat each time it recognizes certain keywords. That way, you don't have to constantly keep checking the MMH list if you want to play a game, and you can find more players that share the same ambition as you easier!

Here's an example of it in action, employed at a RP-centric server I'm a part of:

It keeps the message updated with the current game-name and player count, and cleans up stale notifications of games that have started or been unhosted.

Would this work to announce games hosted by other bots from other servers? We have an active clan for australia, we play every day for 3-4 hours, but we are trying to get greater exposure.

I know when I'm looking at discord bots and gaming I tend to rotate around my bots for team organizing and event planning and fancy steam bot commands. I really like the premise of what you're going for with this.

Yes, our bot is an australia bot that apparently used to be shown on the MMH website but not anymore (i cannot 100% confirm this though). I was just wondering if your system would be able to announce when our bot hosts a game. I was just curious

Depends on whether or not there is anywhere I can pull the data from. If there is a status page or something like that, then perhaps, though I'd need to rework the bot a bit to support custom sources better.
