Channel - Quick question

I didn't want to clutter any other subforums with this quick question, so I thought I'd throw it in here.

Can anyone redirect me to a tutorial for using the Channel ability? I've been trying to sift through the tutorials here, but running an advanced search for "channel" doesn't help much.

It's a trigger ability base. It does almost nothing, to my knowledge, so all effects are upto you to create.
