Trying to set ability level of this item to the sac_counter variable. Not sure if this is possible? Anyone understand what I'm trying to ask?

  • call BlzSetAbilityIntegerField(BlzGetItemAbility(gg_item_glsk_0088, 'A04P'), ABILITY_IF_LEVELS, udg_sac_counter)

I don't know if it is possible to set ability level on item itself, however when unit acquires an item, that unit receives that item's abilities. So all you need to do is update level of given ability on unit.

For example, Staff of Healing has modified "Holy Light (item)" ability that has 2 levels. The trigger would look like this:
  • Acquires item
    • Events
      • Unit - A unit Acquires an item
    • Conditions
      • (Item-type of (Item being manipulated)) Equal to Staff of Healing
    • Actions
      • Unit - Set level of Holy Light (item) for (Triggering unit) to 2

Thanks for the replies.

Cheshire, I'm trying to make the stats on the item increase to be equal to the sac counter variable. There is a sacrifice mechanic and I want each sacrifice to increase the stats given by the item each time the item is re/acquired or each time another sacrifice is done.

Nichilus, that method does not seem to work on initial testing. I guess I'll just try add/remove item ability but I didn't want to make an array of 40+ item abilities.
