Campaign writing tutorial?

Anyone aware of a tut for writing campaigns? I want to write one for my 9 year old son to learn the basics of the game. and try to teach him good practices. I tried writing one, but I guess I need help, too many questions to ask. Like for instance after the game begins, I would like to show a dialog box and tell him to asign peasants to mine gold, build farms and so on. Trouble is, I cant get the dialog to open. Then monitor when he completes the asignment and open another dialog to do the next task.
Any help appreciated.

In the tutorial forum, you can find a tutorial about dialog, and DarkShadow have created a very good and easy tutorial about game cache.

Are you talking about a campaigns (a series of mission and interlude maps) or just a map with cut-scenes and cinimatics?

Given the complexity of warcraft, it may be best for him to play through the single-player campaings first, on easy mode, starting with the tutorial campaign. There, it teaches a little more with every map. Since it would be hard to do that in only one map. But if you are more specific with what you want, we can help you more.
