far part too darkend , also looks blurry and undefined. Try add some glow behind the shield to define it darkened part.

Yes it is too dark, and small. I would increase the size or zoom in a little.

Since I have checked out the WiPs you provided for the current 2D Art Mini-Contest, I suggest you take a look at some 2D Art tutorials we have in our Tutorials Section.
The way you draw things doesn't matter as long as the outcome is fine, but I think you can take plenty of stuff from those tutorials.
