The wooden details are entirely lost on the resized version, so is the shading. The joint where the crystal and the staff meets is just lacking in detail, so is the crystal in place. I recommend you choose a different shape for it and give it some proper reflections in whole.

Anyway, You need too put more contrast on your colors too make them stand out when the icon becomes smaller. Then, i would re-size the whole staff it-self. After that fix the glow on the pink orb on the staff, make it a glowing circle instead of it rising up-ward. Now, the background needs too be all erased then try too make the background like the one icon Whisper subscribed for you.

It still needs more definition. You should chose more contrastive colors. And the handle should be a little bit better too.
I think the colors look too dark together.
