Yeap, let me be first.

The highlights lack alot, the highlights like that are used for a silk textures.

I recommend you to change it, and maybe define the boot alittle bit, doesn't look like it's runed....

It's strange for me that you picked two similar colored light sources which come from 2 different directions, and the boot is too "reflective".

Other than that, for a first icon it's good. You have a lot of potential! I remember my first icon... Oh well . Let's just say it was terrifying.

Draw some sort of folds and laces to run through the middle like in most boots. And prehaps tune the color a little bit so that its a bit darker like metal or brown like leather.
Also some sort of background effect might look good.

But as Deon said, good for a first icon.

I don't mind the shape, but it really needs speculars on the right, it would make it to look 100 times better.

Looks good, i like the details and everything but see how the top of the boot is squarish? i suggest changing the shape around so it can seem and look like a boot.

IMO you should make less runes and make the boots brown, since Gray-Silver doesn't really fit with Blue-Aqua.
