It looks BORING without the water =( It's just an Otter. ugh, ok, i'll just remove his name and leave the otter icon here. it's not like as if he is the owner of all otters in the world. Anyway, gonna put it without the water and you tell me if it is better. =)

Edit: here it is. Do you guys think is better?

Ehm...
the one without background is more zoomed in than the other one... which make the ear no so vissible :/.
That you showed as proof... doesn't have to be proof.
You can acually remove 1 detail on the real on at the time and then take a photo after evry detail.
I dont doubt you've this, just telling you ;).
Realy cute, 1 tear from his eyes and i'd acually fell a tear. :P
EDIT: Oh btw, is there a model for this one :o ?

Well, hmm. Do you have HC's permission? I think it's required.
YAY! Now it seems I monopolized the totality of THW's otters!
Not really, debode, he can do an icon about whatever he ever wants =P

Now @lelyanra: This looks amazing! I couldn't do better myself... at all.
I'm gonna give a link to your icon in the Otter's thread.

kola, the key thing is exacly this: Don't using large images. When you resize them to a smaller size, the software tend to compensade the pixel loss merging pixels colours. This actually causes loss of colour definition. I understand that doing pictures really small sized is a bit more difficult, but it is the best way. O.o

You can also adjust the colours when the pictures are smaller (if you do prefer making them larger). it's less complicated cuz you already got some guide lines, but you don't usually get the same result as doing them small from the beggining.

(This otter is an exeption, i drawed it large, then resized it and made adjustments. I have the whole process of making it in an album at my profile.)
