It seems a lot better with the Lightning, rotation isn't exactly needed here.
However on the Holy version, the handle has blended in with the emptiness, try applying lighter color with little highlight to differentiate them.

I am not sure if the handle blends in too the emptyness as much too me, I might fix it up after I fix the regular other version. I sort of get what your saying...

It could be solved if the lights aren't solid and contrasting to the dark as they are now, you can try a glowing light approach for better transition.
