enjoy: Should change the background color, since the icon gets kinda boring when everything is grey. Also, the sword is the importent thing in the icon. You have centered it, which is good, but maybe zoom on it, so the details are clear. You can get ideas from other sword icons on the site. Also, the background takes focus from the sword. The background should be more simple.

Could be decent, but I thought it turned out to be..

1) Sword blade is too dull / not metal-like.
2) Background. Too much details imho, rendering them unclear.
3) Colour. Why is it monochrome? Main item now clashes with background.

You really don't need all those things/details in the Background, do some awesome glow and the background will be allright.
And as wraith said, don't use all gray colours, it looks kind of plain and boring.
