You need to add a backround for one, and add more decoration as this is simple at the moment. But it is a very creative idea.

I like it, improve shading and add some glow stars to give it a funky look, make the part you hold some other color.

the thing is i made it too wide, so when i rezise it it looks horrible, as to the background i did make it black... hmmm thats weird.

Make a black backround then add a green glow around the figure, but make the glow not so thick.

2:Zoom in on the blade, and handle
3ut handle coming from the bottom right half way, then add on the blue part.
4:Work on your colors/shading

It still looks rather empty. If nothing else, add a glow at least.
