enjoy: It's a bit simple... You need to make it more a concrete object, and have an idea behind it. It seems very random, and a bit empty. Rejected until updated.

i bet you made one of the orbs and just CNP'd the rest, and well the rest isen't so much work either... not much work at all mate.
I can't see in what way i'd use this either.

Is it a demand to hardcore work at least 10 hours of work on an icon? Yes it's simple, i still thought it could be useful.

As in layers of special effects drawn - some lightning, dust, energy flowing around it. This icon is empty, crushed in the middle and a huge black space is left unused.

Messed around, don't really know what i think of it myself. (kind of like the "floating around in empty space feeling")
Better, or Worse? If worse, what should i change?

This scribble is better, but the orb needs some form of limitation - maybe a bubble around it or something. You could use white color in the middle and fade it out to red.

Here it is with sprites, and with a white fading bubble around it, more like an object and not so empty, as enjoy said was the bad about it. Although, i don't really know what's the idea with this icon, its an glowing orb in space, as an item. Anyways, this is how it looks now, better, you think?

I would say - play around a little more, and lets see what can you achieve, but overall, this is so much better than the original

Made a bubble around the orb.
Added sprites.
Added some lightning-thingys around and at the orb.
Added some smoke.
