Hmm, the hand looks awesome. But, whats bothering me is the background color, it blends too well with the color of the hand, throwing me off from the whole concept of the icon, maybe like a grayish color? or lower the opacity down a little. Just a thought.

I see where you're coming from. It's pretty unreadable as is.
Tried greying it a bit, but I didn't really like the effect, so I went with taking down the brightness on the background. Is this better, or should I try and find another colour for the background that doesn't blend so much?

Wow I have looked at your resources, and I must say, this is in a completely different league compared to your previous icons. The shading itself is very clear.
I dont think there is any problem with the bg though. I can already identify what it is at first glance.
