Harnessing the power of flames, the Fiery Knight mercilessily (did I spell that right?) ravages the battlefield.

Ispired by Monthy Python and the Holy Grail "Black Knight" sketch, and the game called Castle Crashers.
Probably not one of my best icons, but I kinda like it, so I thought I'd upload it and see what others think. Someone might find it useful, after all. (And about the cartoonish look... It's supposed to be like that)

100% freehand, made with Corel Painter Essentials 3 and Paint.NET.

**Update**

Improved the shading.
I thought it was a little dark, so I made everything a bit brighter.

Further shading improvements are needed and the blade is still lacking.

Is it just me, of is that guy's head a block of ... I've no idea what. Flesh out the sword a little cause no one can see it. The icon doesn't exactly look fiery, more of a dark, sinister aura. And the knight's pose is not exactly realistic. Overall the icon needs more detail.
BTW its spelt 'mercilessly'.

Looks like a sandbag with a sword

it really does. if you want to make the icon better you have to add a bit more straightness to the helm and not make it look like it wrinkles when it bends. a helm isnt even supposed to bend so the curve to the helm is not good at all. the sword is also incredibly akward cause it looks like a mishapen cartoon lightning bolt. the shading is well done but it looks a tad too sudden. the glow is also a bit too sudden. just work on this. it needs quite a bit.

2/5 for now

AND make the helm a little smaller, that'll do.
