Looks cool and abstract but, I don't see much use out of this, maybe make it an elemental orb instead of a sphere? Also, im not the type to criticize the icons name with how it looks but, since its an elemental I would add few more colors towards it maybe a red or yellow? Im not sure what that brown spot is on the top right corner also.

Well, this icon is more like an orb instead of an sphere. Sphere icons are mostly hollow but orbs are filled and solid, so this is more like an orb. However, the name is "sphere".

The elemental colors ("Blue", "Red" and "Yellow and Orange") are really much and visible in this icon. So, is it needed to add more?

Im not sure what that brown spot is on the top right corner also.

Just an orange-brown effect color like the lower parts. Needed to remove it?

On first glance this is a fancy looking orb, speaking on a serious way however, the effects looks forcefully mashed and has very poor transition, it is messy and looks unfinished.

White area around the sphere is blending with the background effect, it looks like it has two light source from both left and bottom, that is weird.
The middle and right side of the sphere looks very dull compared to other part, they don't fit together.
The brown object on top-right is just random even if I try to see it as earth-element thing, I suggest you to remove it if you don't have a clear reason to let it stay there.

You have to give more focus to the sphere, placing too much colors everywhere will just overwhelms the sphere itself.
