Hawkwing: I agree with krisserz. It looks awesome, but it's too bright. This would make an excellent icon for Cyclone (if not for the angle) or something similar, but a it is, you really need to define that it's a black hole.

as you said, its not your own style. I like the concept but the whole think is a bit too pixely. although im not sure that you could smooth it out without it being blurry... :S

Ignoring the ethnical arguements, You should add a pulsar or something or other in the edge, as in the black hole drains it's energy. Or add bright and light in the ring and 100 opacity 100% black 5px brush to draw the quant signularity.
