Maybe add some movement to the club or mace whatever it is? It doesn't really look like the soldier was getting bashed at all, it's just a head and a club next to it :]...

You should make a hand hold the weapon hitting the "footman" so it looks more realistic.

very nice, but u should add some impact to it. like some kind of orange ''explosion'' on the impact.
