I'm pretty sure those are supposed to be leaves. It would be cooler with thorns, though.

Icons with a single colour (black not included) should have a sharp, obvious definition to what it represents. If I didnt know its a Wall of Poison firsthand, I'd be doing a lot of guesswork as to what it is
