The blade's general quality still looks lacking. Just make it more metallish by variating shadings and highlights. The background is now okay.

First of all, sharpen the outlines. Secondly, add more shadings to the hilt and the blade. You shouldn't variate with the color schemes, but you will need some realistic look, since it looks too cartoonish.

ug it was so difficult trying to think of a third teir. im going to redo them both and make them amazingly awsome now ^^

I can only write what I wrote at the other one: Decrease the emphasis of the outlines and add more shadings and highlights. The shadings and highlights are the ones requiring more work, as they matter a lot in making icons realistic.
