attaching head!

i took the head of a villager...vertex modifier and then remove the body and then save the geoset...and then i replaced the head of the bandit by a villagers head i just edited..i put it in "head ref" but then when ever i import and use it in in-game, the head is not attached to the body..

WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!????
