I liked it, it seems like other maps created by Blizzard which are more turned towards the classic style of RTS games in pvps or player vs computer.

I'm more into Custom Campaign, but this map provided me fun for while it lasted, I would point out just one thing with the enviroment that I think you missed, it is by the right side of the map, in a murloc creep camp, there's a difference of elevation there which I think was misplaced, some troops of mine got stuck in this area but I managed to get them out, just so you know if you want to change it in the future.

Congratulations on your first map and keep going! :D

Review - Arid Plains
(Version March 20th 2025)
Synopsis: Arid Plains is a melee map for two players. Featuring the Barrens tile set, players are battling on a rather open web-layout. THe large corridors give way for even larger armies. In the current state the map does not quite meet the standard melee requirements, though remains playable.
Map Aesthetics: The map carries a theme of empty barrens. The tileusage and visual clarity need improvements though. The tile usage is very artificial looking, with repetitive patterns throughout the map. Similarly the usage of Pathing Blocker (Both) is very questionable without clear visual indication of where that occurs. The gaps between the trees also need to be fixed to prevent smaller units (such as wisps) from becoming unreachable. The terrain work also looks relatively empty - which can be accepted considering the barren tileset, but more detailed decoration work would be good in most of the areas.
Map Layout: The layout looks balanced and fair. The open web layout also functions for two players, though the corridors are unnecessarily large and the map lacks strategic choke points and restrictions in control/openness. Thus, narrowing some of the openness would be beneficial to a bit deeper gameplay - likewise the visual clarity must be improved in regards to the pathing blockers.
Neutral Objectives: Creep placement is okayish, but could be improved considerably. The creep camps should be more easy to recognize from their micro placement (not just placed next to a pathway). More over, many creep cmaps can easily aggro on units passing by, which is not very good practice in melee map - especially two-player maps. Item drops look a bit inconsistent, with many Permanent Level 1 drops. There is even Level 0 (Permanent) drop, which does not exist. Go through the item drops and make sure they are balanced in regards to the creep camp strength and placement as well as not conflicting with one another. You may also want to look at other melee maps or tutorials to grasp a clearer picture on how the item drops ought to work.
Map Gameplay: Does not fulfil the standard melee map criteria. Set to Lacking.
