X RATED RUBY from YouTube!! XDgreat, now we require a swearing parrot soundset to go along with it.
Serious though, i forgot to change the death sound. What do people think would be a fitting one?great, now we require a swearing parrot soundset to go along with it.
It's a touch up of a conversion by diegoit, or how you spell his name. I made a portrait for it too but didnt think that stuff was worth upping.P.S. This Kobold MK is adorable
Maybe this...?Serious though, i forgot to change the death sound. What do people think would be a fitting one?
Well, have you ever heard of this one? What do you get when you cross a chicken with a harpy?
A cockatoo apparently!
Waiting for the dead version, haha
You guys mean something like this? Well... it ain't blue, though. Now we need a dead Norwegian blue parrot

That would be hilarious, but I don't think that the people with strong morals would ever agree/approve of having a swearing parrot around cussing all the time. Oh, well... don't blame the innocent mimicking bird, blame the humans who cussed nearby and/or taught it to cuss...X RATED RUBY from YouTube!! XD
No just kidding, but it could work well for parrots.
In my opinion, I'd recommend vulture's or hawk's death sound due to similar squawking sound.Serious though, i forgot to change the death sound. What do people think would be a fitting one?

Strange. I'm using Firefox (heavily mitigated to "burninate" nearly 100% built-in Spyware crap) on my PC, and also DuckDuckGo browser on my phone, and both seem to play the video just fine.Your video seems to have some serious issues lol, or is it just my browser or something?
Okee-dokee. Like I said, you're free to do whatever you want. I was just trying to help.I settled for the Assassin death sound; I don't think it's commonly used for anything else, and it could be mistaken for a bird.
I don't really feel strongly about the splatter or not :/. I never really liked the way gryphons violently exploded on death.
You're welcome! Thanks though, coz I didn't know about those event - spawn object things. I only really looked at them before for sounds, or footprints.
Does Firefox have spyware now? I'm on Brave because firefox was doing stuff that annoyed me.Strange. I'm using Firefox (heavily mitigated to "burninate" nearly 100% built-in Spyware crap) on my PC, and also DuckDuckGo browser on my phone, and both seem to play the video just fine.

Off-topic:Oh, I'd really LOVE to talk about "Googlevil"'s politics, but I'd rather not derail the thread. But in short words, I only discovered that after checking the articles from the Online Spyware Watchdog site (Firefox info found here)... yeah, I know the site looks like the 90s and I could care less if the people believe in their claims or not, but the information shown there may surprise everyone! |
Hmm... I may have exaggerated on the frames per second because I wanted a smooth video animation. Guess I'll have to fix that... after I get home. The vid is laggy and hangs every 3 seconds. Audio and video out of sync.
Maybe I'm lagging coz of people slowly siphoning off all muh crypto?
EDIT: Video updated. Also, the video resolution was way higher than I expected when I exported. Anyway, the lagginess problem should be solved now.
Glad to hear the video plays fine now.Works perfect now XD
Thank you! What I did was just a modest and simple edit with the ol' War3 Model Editor... yeah, I still use it and sometimes Oinkerwinkle's Tools and WarForger. Nowadays, nearly everyone here uses Retera's Model Studio, I think.I'm coming around to the explosions now, they look pretty decent in your vid.
I'll probably do something like that in any future flying creature models.
An exotic set!
Waiting for the dead version, haha
Awesome!
Now we need a dead Norwegian blue parrot
Awesome! Always love adding more critters to my map
You really made a dead version!!!Norwegian Blue variety now available.
How do people feel about the wing feathers?
I believe you're mistaken, it's resting.You really made a dead version!!!
Well I used harpy as a base (which comes from garg), I think eagle is based on stormcrow?Love these models, but the gargoyle animations feel kinda weird, was expecting something smoother like eagle animations
Does it need an eye patch?zomfg pirate hat version made it 6 out of 5
Apparently all birds do technically have knees, but I get your point.Birds with knees
It is just a minor detail though. Great work!
Birds with knees
Brown one looks great.
Happily, but i'm already a fan of the existing look so that's gonna color my perception. I imported it and put it as a pretty big sized model, looks great that way imo.I'm surprised with how it turned out, and pretty satisfied. "Kea" was the whole reason I made the model to begin with lol as I plan on using it for my mod/custom race.
I think it looks good in isolation, however it might be a bit detailed or busy in-game.
If I post another one with a lower density of feathers, would you mind giving me your opinion?
here he is as a boss sized (Tier 8 out of 9) unit of the air/wind army in my pushgame. Think the detail level is perfect for a unit this size, you can easily tell where he ends and the small guys below start.
-SNIP-
Okay, sick. It's nice to see it in the wild
At that size the detail is definitely warranted.
Does it use the air-to-ground melee attacks or the range/air-to-air standard ones?
I found when testing a flock of them that when attacking ground in melee they tended to shunt each other around a little bit which could look odd.it's a melee unit. in that test just now i had either colli or range a little too high which made it swing too far off the mark but i'm narrowing it down to the right numbers. I was previously using Kuhneghetz' Owl model which is pretty but lacks a convincing attack anim which becomes too obvious when big.

I wasn't so worried about the height of attack because the target height can vary so much, and a lot of standard models don't make literal contact or w/e when they attack. Take for example the Garg's attack (which is the basis for the first attack on the parrot).
My idea for the Attack One -2 animation was if someone wanted to make Squawks shoots eggs like in Donkey Kong, but I think it works well enough as A2A melee.
It wasn't noticeable in Hive's preview mode but I think I see what you mean about the death animations. There some smaller issues with most models. Some geosets do not properly disappear at the end of the death animation as they should. Please tend to that.
Can you make a Cockatiel variation?
