hello, there.
96x96 size, for 12 players is very, very small. 96x96 size is the layout used in the 75% of the 1vs1 melee maps.
the others 25% are 96x64, 128x64, 96x128 and 128x128. Yep even there are 128x128 for 1vs1 melee maps.
I did a 96x96 for a 4 player melee map and there isn´t much space to put things.
layout is very similar (by looking the wood, I can almost say is the same map with some neutrals buildings added) to this map you made in the past:
