Gryphon/War Gryphon/Jamirus from Dragon Quest. Jamirus/Jamiras (spelling alternates sometimes between games) is the character version of this enemy. Jamirus is a villain from Dragon Quest 6 who brings people to his private island of "happiness" and gets them drunk before sacrificing them to demons.
Spell Throw is a damaged animation that could be a "stand hit" animation, but those are largely unused in Warcraft 3. I thought it passed as a competent spell animation where he's spitting out a projectile or something.
Model is optimized heavily to cut down on filesize but animations still look great. Attack animation is sped up to work better with WC3 gameplay.
