I was replying to multiple people and don't know how to get that reply-window working twice in the same post; my bad

There is no such thing in the rules. Unless it's an update, it's multiposting. Imagine replying to 10 or more people that way.

It's fairly simple, just drag the mouse over the piece of text from a post and click the appearing Reply button. Do this for all parts you want to reply to, in the same post.

Oh goodness, no I wouldn't respond to like-- 10 people like that
If I knew of a way to just @ and respond; new line @ respond, etc all in one post, I'd probably do that

You can press the Quote button for each post if you want to reply-quote to the full post of a person. And when you do this for more posts by people, your message box will get filled with those quotes. However, it's easier to read when you just quote a part of a post how I mentioned earlier.
Yeah, you could also just write the @[insert user name here] if you don't want to quote anything.
