Hey, sorry to hear that. Kinesiotherapy is good for stuff like this. I had back problems which lead to sciatic pain.

Thanks for the advice :)

Now it depends on what you have. If it's muscles, movement might not be such a good idea right now. I guess your specialist knows :D

Chin tucks all the way. I suffer from forward head posture.

Aaah, yeah. Well, if the cervical ligaments aren't fissured, it's all good. I think it's might be more easier to manage than lumber issues.

I wish for you it gets better again!

Thanks a lot. I've suffered from this on and off since 2007-2008. It's hard to imagine it going away, but right now I am hitting on all cylinders: will try to get x-ray/mr scan, get my insurance to issue me some therapy, etc. I am 31. If I don't get it done now, it will probably stick for the rest of my life.

Yeah, it's something that requires regular exercise. I don't know the exact intricacies of your issue but for back pain, it's important to have the lumber muscles worked out so that the spine would stand properly/straight and not let the discs compress any nerves. Of course, for hernias it's a bit different.

Thanks guys. It's not like I am at my death bed or anything. I just think I need to push now to change if it ever happens.

I still work at my job (software developer) 8 hours x 4 days a week. That's part of why I need to limit the optional time. I also check the site daily. I just don't sit by the computer for stretches at a time in my free time right now.

Take care of yourself and I wish you a speedy recovery, Ralle.

I'm not sure if these 3 thoughts might be useful/on target suggestions, but I'll post them just in case as they have helped me avoid pain with long hours on the computer.

1. Ergonomics (specifically compute monitor height) - I usually have to put books underneath the monitor on the desk to raise it to a comfortable level, but other ergonomic guidelines should also be observed.

2. Split keyboard - for me, having the keyboard in two halves several inches apart feels much more natural/comfortable.

3. Vertical mouse - primarily for wrist pain on the mouse hand, I still thought it deserved a mention.
