Why do you put it into the past? You can still mix these two genres? Or you meant that the Ice Escape part was just to show the progress of your rhythm game?

I mean, under the presupposition that osu! gameplay isn't reproducible in WC3, I'll just stick to 'pure' Ice Escape, with renovations to the mechanics (probably no death circles to begin with, not fun).
Malhorne

Maybe you're right ^^
Or maybe try to search for some original ideas from other genres to make it unique? To be honest I basically know nothing about Ice Escape so it's kind of hard for me to help there

Yeah, I can think of some innovations, e.g. PvP, betting, vision modifiers, leader board, new spells, new mobs, new obstacles, new ice type, bumpers, etc.

My free time will dwindle as my school year starts... Perhaps it's time to accept defeat and focus on Ice Escape part.

You see you've got plenty of ideas to make it cool :p

Ahaha don't talk about it, since I'm working I've obviously less free time during the week. Especially since it takes me like 45m to go to work ^^

Yeah, then it's another matter which of those is actually fun, hehe.

Jokes on you, my school is couple blocks away.
Malhorne

Oh yeah for sure, another problem which is fun for who :p ?

Tsssss
At least I used to have my high school very close to my house back in the days.
But usually I always had to travel half an hour afterwards.

Yeah, I'd try to let players select as much as possible. Just like in osu!, you can select modifiers to spice up the game. In exchange you get a score multiplier.

Do you use public transit for commuting? That gives you good time to read and stuff. I recommend reading about finance and investing. It could really change your later life, for the better of course.
Malhorne
Malhorne
Yep that can be a good idea, so everyone can play with the right difficulty.

Yup I use public transit :)
Oh no I hate finance, investing, social stuff. You know I'm a real misanthropic nerd. I read but no "so called serious by the greater mass" stuff.
And to be honest if you think money could change your life, it's kind of right but if you need to be rich to change your life, then you missed the point of life. I just made it up, if one day it becomes a famous quote, please say you saw it there #Hive

I'm talking early retirement, being able to afford expensive hobby and good education for your children, being able to withstand rough times (suffering disease, losing job), etc. Not necessarily getting a yacht and a mansion with butlers and maids, lol.

With what I currently earn I would not have any trouble with the mentioned points, especially with the way I live.
In France we have for the best or the worst a good part of our salary going into taxes to help us with retirement and stuff.

It's not like I don't know how to manage money, it's just that I hate everything related to finance and investment, and this kind of venal stuff tbh ^^

Ah, coders make that much... so what kind of yacht you eyeing? I can help design the clothing of maids, or lack thereof.
Just joking. :p

Alright. Well, it's not everyone's interest. I have some interest in history of money, how we came to have cash (why populace would accept an arbitrarily priced medium of exchange), why central banks came to be (largely to fund wars), rise of EMUs and so on. And the capitalism-socialism debate is a classic. Not that I know anything about it atm, but I've bought books I plan to read.

Some companies have very good salaries that's all I guess ^^
No, when I was talking about the way I live, it's just that I don't spend much haha
(And to be honest I would never want maids or yacht or whatever)

It's definitely not mine haha
On this eco-political debate I've got a different opinion: nothing will ever work as long as there are human being involved. Remember when I said misanthropic nerd, here you have it x)

But is there an alternative system to that by humans? The debate must be had and the current system subjected to opposition. Each side must improve to grow as interlocutors and better morally ground their views. To enable this, the populace, from whom politicians arise, must be educated as much as possible and the press kept free.

I feel like I wasn't taught about money in school, even though it's definitely a topic that's relevant to everyone's lives. Schools are bringing programming as a compulsory subject into their curriculums which is a step in the right direction, but there is more work to be done.
Malhorne

Imo there is no alternative because the system is made by human beings. I know this is very pessimistic but tbh I can't find any solution, and every other solution people presented me are failure in my opinion.
What you wish for is an utopia inaccessible to human.

I was forced to have economics courses during my studies, as well as management courses. So I don't feel like I wasn't taught, but I'm definitely not interested.
I also have a lot of communist/heavily socialist friends with whom I had interesting discussion about the other side of politics.

I was responding to 'nothing will ever work as long as humans are involved'. Because there's no alternative, we must thrive within the confinements of human reason. I don't think it's utopic to further education and have a free press.
Malhorne
Malhorne
I don't think you understand the extend of my reasoning. My opinion is that whatever you try to do, it will not work AT ALL. Like not even better, nothing. You can believe you're doing better until you realize some shitty stuff took place at the same time. And it never gets better.

Further education? Yeah as long as we teach them what we want.
Free press? How can you prove it? Because I see none sadly.
Thriving for something better? Good ideal, I respect that. How? You're messing with a human society sadly.
D
Deleted member 219079
'Yeah as long as we teach them what we want.' Are you implying schools brainwash people, or?
There are metrics for press freedom: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Press_Freedom_Index
By means of ethics, I can morally ground my opinions and hence assess good and bad in legislation. Philosophy is yet another subject I'd like to see emphasized in education.
Malhorne
Malhorne
Yes.
Hum, that map sums up pretty well my thinking haha
You're an utopist ;)
That's some good ideals you've got. However good luck to make anything works in our world.
I wish you the best in order to make your ideals come true.

But tbh I've surrendered.
D
Deleted member 219079
Meh, that was all just a digression from the crux of my comment - that you can utilize the commute time by reading. Finance and investing was merely an example for a topic.

Have you had luck with 1.31?
