if they seek attention they obviously need it, so why persecute them for it?

everyone needs love

That's actually a good point. But I'm not persecuting anyone specifically here, just making fun of the teen-like mentality (which I used to have as well), and how pointless it is.

More often than not, people seeking attention are made fun of, when those are usually cries for help in some form. However, most people can't help them since they require very specific types of help that not everyone can provide, and many things said to them will fall on deaf ears because they don't want to confront them.

everyone seeks adoration. being a teen is hard because you find very little of it. people enjoy focusing on the negatives, and really at that age what can you accomplish that isn't already expected of you? walk a mile in their shoes and smell the deprivation

??? I hope you do realize that I used to be one. Why would I "walk in anyone's shoes" when those shoes used to be mine? I am merely commenting on a type of behavior that I possessed, that everyone did, and find it childish and pointless in retrospect (because it is).

Back in my days we'd walk uphill to school... and back uphill again...

True, though it may not seem it, kids have it harder these days. Less jobs, over population, plenty of distractions, legal drugs, politics...

Back when my Grand Father was in his teens he was helping people put out napalm with sand bags, but when I was a teen there were no jobs available at all! You have to ask yourself, who was better off, the war child or the modern era

Children mortality these days is so low compared to how it used to be that it's actually hilarious to even try comparing it. Having no job is better than being dead, and most of us would be dead about 200 years ago (and this is not even a statistical exaggeration).
