I have no clue what mdlvis does or doesn't do, since I've never used it.
When you delete a sequence in Magos, it only deletes the sequence object itself, which is a tiny metadata object.

As to regular expressions, they have nothing specific to do with key frames.
You use regular expressions when you want to search/replace text based on patterns.
