"Step aside, my legacy awaits."
Supreme ruler of her people, being an incarnation of her peoples' deity according to legend.
Since her blood is undisputedly the purest she was born into royalty.
As she is underage a council of nobles were assembled early to handle the daily matters so that Ellie could focus on learning.

The cycle

According to ancient tales, the deity inhabited a human, but despite the wisdom the deity had she could not help but see her form decay like any of her underlings.
She started the incarnation cycle, giving birth to her successor, dying in childbirth upon changing host to the child. Unsurprisingly the child was always female in order to continue the cycle and make the goddess stay on earth eternal.

The child is a new person every time, though shaped by the deity who constantly whispers in the mind to guide and form it into an image of herself.

But her influence is limited to the human body, there is a limit on how much information and change a human can undergo in a day. Same for lending powers

Monks

The 'priests' of the religion. Magic users which focus on support and control.

Unlike their templar counterparts, monks have their personality intact.
They are blindly devoted to their faith which shape them to some extent however.

Lowborn are not allowed to exist in this position, it is reserved for those with pure blood.

While the monks a lot of different uses and specializations, the power is a gift from their deity.
A ritual is performed where they drink large amounts of the deity's blood in order to get their powers.
The deity does not gladly gift her blood to anyone which is why monks are very rare.

Not to mention that many participants that undergo the ritual become crazed and needs to be put down.

Templars

Brutal fanatics clad in heavy armor, make up the frontline of the army.
The weapon of choice differs but the lack of fear of death is always present.
They are but tools to be disposed of in their own eyes.
Empty shells of their former selves.

The majority of the Templars willingly submitted themselves for various reasons.
There is a considerable payment for signing up, the downside being that it will cost your soul, metaphorically. Many slaves consider it a cheap price for offering a new life opportunity to a loved one. But while reasoning varies from person to person, the thing they have in common is they had unfortunate lives in the past.

Some prisoners of war are sometimes signed up as well, but this is limited to very skilled fighters that are deemed to valuable to do normal physical labor.
In total Crimsonfall got 10 000 units strong enrolled in the army.
4000 of which are still in training or are somewhat inexperienced.

Ranks

The military ranks merely tell how many units is under their commend.
And while some exceptional Templars can become captains, most of the ranks are occupied by monks.

Locations

Godswood

A large forest covering most of Crimsonfall's ground.
Notably, the leaves are blood red and the bark carry a crimson undertone.
Even the water gets a similar tint

Harthelm

The kingdom's capital. Located in the West part of the Godswood.

Sanguine Peak

Large mountain close to the center of the Godswood. Three thousand meters tall.
High enough to be respectable, but not breaking any records.

Halestrom Monastery

Main monk training area located close to the top of Sanguine Peak

Bleekmond Bog

An large swamp which cover almost a fourth of the Godswood in total, covering the majority of Crimsonfall's eastern border. It is largely unhabited and not touched due toxic fumes. Some slaves occasionally try their luck and escape through it since very few dare to follow.

The Southern Plains

The Godswood is usually tightly packed with trees and other wildlife. But in the south there are some exceptions. It is the main location of the kingdom's few farms since it is one of the few places where the sun can reach the ground and thus grow crops. According to legend, a large battle took place there in ancient times which caused the trees to become damaged and die out in the area as a side effect of war.

10 copper = 1 silver
100 silver = 1 ruby

Common Trade Goods

The kingdom's main economic benefit is minerals.
The mines run deep within Sanguine Peak, mined by slaves.
Both iron and unrefined jewelry alike is extracted and traded.

Slaves are commonly traded as well.

Crimsonfall is heavily lacking in food.
The Godswood offers very little space to farm and cutting down the trees is forbidden.
Without trade with other kingdoms and countries most of the population would starve.
