Hello, Hive.
Long time no speak, and I'm sorry for that. My real life has been so incredibly busy as of late -- with having finished my PhD (a monsterious 80,000 word project) and preparing for the next venture in life -- that I've had such little time to engage with a website I feel very strongly about. It is this strongness that has kept me from doing what I'm about to sooner: just a day before my twenty sixth birthday, I am stepping down from my place in the Admin's Nest.
Those of you the know me, know what I'm going off to do in the new year, and so also know how much free time I won't be having. Because of this, my continued presence in the Hivory Tower is unfair. Unfair on myself, unfair on the rest of the staff, and unfair on The Hive. There have been lots of laughs, frustrations, but most of all fun along the way, and I won't forget that.
Hopefully I'll find space to drop by in the future. Even if it's just for a funnight or two, here and there, I'd love for us to keep in touch. Our community isn't likely to grow much because of how old our interests are, and this is a special place; let's remember what makes The Hive great, and strive to keep it that way. Be kind, teach the newbies, look out for each other. And who knows? The world is growing ever smaller these days. Maybe we'll bump into each other sometime; I'd happily buyany most some a few of you a pint.
