while I like nanakey/delphiums leviathan from world of warcraft, I personally prefer the older version from wow called the sea monster, its more reminiscent of something I tried to make once, so I decided to try again, attempt number 2 on ''the krakken'' for reals this time. having some issues with the animations currently, but its textures seem to be just fine. these ones I've made my self, based on whats called the ''faceless seamonster'' texture which comes purple, as supposed to the ''unbroken seamonster'' which starts off very dark blood red, as supposed to pink, which is what I wanted.
the purples/magentas have been stripped and the red layers weakened, while the blue and green layers where strengthened and amplified in the highlights and mid tones while leaving the shadows the same. combined with the emissive texture for the eyes and the 2 different specular textures this thing came out quite nice. once I fix the animation bugs this should make for a good replacement of the leviathan model, but for the same creature.
finally a mask texture which makes the dimples team color. in this example they are team color pink.
credits to deadlyxtrips for the specular mask and emissive textures.
not sure when the tentacles models will be started though....
not removing so much as replacing/adding to it yes, the leviathan (brown megacephalopod) will be another smaller npc creep in the sea with 1600-2000 health (haven't decided the health yet) this one will be the bigger one used by players. with 9999 health. the maximum health you could see in warcraft3 before the numbers would vanish (ignoring patches), starcraft 2 suffers this as well, when beyond 19,000 health. but ive decided 9999 is more then enough. and its in homage to warcraft3s max as well.
