I know too little of Godfall to know that humans were meant to be based on Spanish. Now I know.
But the curious bit is that in fact the initial inspiration to make some renaissance-themed models in general, and spanish in particular, has been my discovery of one old map group of yours about the Italian wars of 1500.
that and seeing a landesknecht model tease by herrdave here. That made me realize that, while the aesthetics of renaissance Germany has been extensively fleshed out in some recent strategic videogames, little to no attention is paid to southern European themes of the same time. Among them, the Spanish military in the form of the armors and helmets of the tercios and the conquistadores was arguably the best recognizable example (Italians and balcanics didn't have such "uniformity")
Check some concept art in this gallery to find a link to a beautiful illustrated atlas of selected military outfits of the Italian wars.
After the Spanish I plan on making at least one version of a balcanic stratiotes.
Eventually, if they will be finishers and will prove to work properly, I would love to see these models of mine be used in projects of others.
You probably mean warhammer. It was always based on Germany, despite they made the continent based on whole Europe, but they focus on 'Germanic' part. Even not being a videogame, most recent mtg set called Ixalan has a vampire faction based on conquistadors.
That Italian wars campaign was made so I have something to show, since I wanted to make something historical so I made it in a hurry.
